I feel like writing the whole things in English this time. Pardon me if there were any grammatical errors.
Only 3 weeks left. We’re moving closer towards the end. Some suspicions are being cleared, though some mysteries remained still. New dreams and decisions are being made; some are exciting, some are devastating. Love blooms, jealousy grows, and broken heart is awaiting at the end of the day. Ah, so much to feel this week. *_*
Here are the higlights of week #6 (episode 21-24 — aired on July, 8 and July, 9 2017).
The love story
In these 4 episodes, we could see that Hyun Jae and Woo Seung was getting closer. They went shopping together, took picture in the photo box, had dinner in a restaurant that Woo Seung once came with his father, and did so many other things that mostly was just Hyun Jae’s excuses in order to be with Woo Seung.
Ji Hoon wasn’t surprised to know that Hyun Jae has a special feeling for Woo Seung, but he was a bit worried when he found out that Woo Seung might have the same feeling for Hyun Jae. He warned Hyun Jae to stay away from Woo Seung because he doesn’t want her to be hurt. Hyun Jae came to his senses and realized that he shouldn’t compete with his son. So eventhough his feeling for Woo Seung was real, he tried to keep the distance from her and give up on that feeling.
Ah, my heart is torn. I’m still on Ji Hoon’s side, but seeing Hyun Jae tried to give up on Woo Seung didn’t make me happy either. There’s no win-win solution in this case. If Woo Seung ended up with Hyun Jae, she would be Ji Hoon’s stepmother. But if she ended up with Ji Hoon, she would be Hyun Jae’s daughter in law. Eventually, neither Ji Hoon nor Hyun Jae could totally move on. -_-
What about pairing Woo Seung with another person? Like maybe.. MJ. xD
MJ is getting cuter. He wasn’t as bad as he was in the beginning of this drama– though he might still be a bit annoying. He wanted to stop deceiving his fans and start his album all over again because of Woo Seung’s advice. It seems like he’s attracted to Woo Seung, though Woo Seung didn’t see him as a special person.
Well then, I think I’ll switch side. I’ll be on MJ’s side. The chance of Woo Seung to end up with MJ is almost 0%, so I’ll be disappointed anyway. Lol. But I think that’s still better than being torn between a father and his son.
We still don’t know who’s responsible for Hyun Jae’s disappearance, but sure, it’s neither Gwang Jae nor Young Jae, unlike the predictions of the online investigation group (“Questions on Hyun Jae’s Disappearance” group).
Hyun Jae called Gwang Jae before he disappeared in 1994. He said that he will be away for a while. Gwang Jae didn’t take that seriously. In addition, Gwang Jae knew that Bo Hee was pregnant but he didn’t tell Hyun Jae because he thought that he will see Hyun Jae again. He had no idea that Hyun Jae would never come back. That’s why he felt sorry for Hyun Jae. That is the thing he apologized to Hyun Jae during hangover scene in the previous week.
Young Jae is bad for stealing Hyun Jae’s work, faking it as MJ’s work, and now even using Hyun Jae’s skill for his own advantage (though Hyun Jae is also using Young Jae’s facilities for his own advantage). He’s an opportunist, but he is not the one responsible for Hyun Jae’s disappearance.
Previously, Young Jae doubted that Kim Dda Bong is the real Hyun Jae. He did a background check on Hyun Jae and found out that Dda Bong is indeed Hyun Jae. But Young Jae had no idea how come Hyun Jae didn’t seem to age. “Is he a goblin?” asked Young Jae. Lol. That’s a funny question, and that’s what makes me sure that he’s not the suspect.
Okay, if they were not the suspects, then who? Is it Hyun Jae himself, as predicted by Gwang Jae? We’ll surely find out. Soon. Very soon.
Ji Hoon’s debut plan
I didn’t mention it in the previous review, but Ji Hoon went viral as “Part Time Baker” after MJ’s fans (Kim Sook and friends) posted his photo online. He then received so many prank calls and messages from the girls who interested in his look. Not only that, Star Punch were actually tried to scout him again but he left to rescue the injured Woo Seung. Unfortunately, he came too late. Hyun Jae came first and rescued Woo Seung. Poor Ji Hoon, he missed both chances: chance to debut under Star Punch and chance to win Woo Seung’s heart.
But the story didn’t end up there. He might have failed to debut under Star Punch but some other agencies tried to contact him. One of them is Ssen Entertainment, which is the biggest entertainment agency in South Korea–according to the drama. Ji Hoon came to Ssen Entertainment for the interview and they offered him a chance to debut.
Ji Hoon could’ve taken the chance to debut under Ssen, but he turned down that opportunity. He came up with his own plan instead. He asked Gwang Jae to become his manager and wanted to debut under World Entertainment. He wanted the agency to be big again.
Gwang Jae was excited to hear that plan. He then made a business plan and tried to find investors for World Entertainment. He hadn’t found investors yet when he coincidentally bumped into Cathy and dropped the business plan. Cathy saw the proposal and said that she could be an investor but she needed a time to consider it.
Gwang Jae also came to Hyun Jae and asked him to compose a song. Hyun Jae said he was busy, though he didn’t tell Gwang Jae what he’s been up to these days. He didn’t want Gwang Jae to know that he works in Star Punch. But since Hyun Jae thought that Gwang Jae is his best friend (the one person he always remembered during his hard times), I guess he’ll do it. Let’s see!
In a drama, usually, after a character is being diagnosed with alzheimer, his/her story will gradually turn to be more and more heartbreaking. Fortunately, this one doesn’t follow that path. Instead of making the viewers sad, Sun Tae’s story was executed so delightfully that the viewers might be forgetting that he suffered from a serious illness.
Lee Sun Tae was just being the usual Lee Sun Tae. He was not getting devastated. Instead, he decided to fight the disease. He bought a book that is claimed to be useful to overcome alzheimer and felt like he has won the battle just by reading the book’s title.
But then, he lost the book. He looked for the book in all over the house but couldn’t find it (and later revealed that he packed the book for Mal Sook when she said that her teacher told her to bring a book she could read at school, lol). But he didn’t give up. He stopped searching and bought another book, but fell asleep right after reading a few pages. Then Mal Sook came and told him that she needed to bring sport shoes to school. He was so sleepy but he packed Mal Sook’s sport shoes anyway.. and unconsciously put the book inside the shoe bag. That’s how he lost another book. Lol.
Hyun Jae coincidentally found his musical book inside the locker on Young Jae’s desk. He opened it and he was surprised to see that the things he wrote in 2017 appeared in that book, too. He was more surprised to find that he wrote songs and other things (including his appointment with Bo Hee) until the time that he was pronounced disappeared. In short, those things were not exist in the book that Hyun Jae brought with him. Hyun Jae was curious about that, so he switched those books while Young Jae were not there.
Hyun Jae also found out that 22198 is Bo Hee’s phone lock password. He then asked her if there were any special meaning behind those numbers. She said that she used to date someone in the past and 22198 was a code she sent through beeper when she wanted to meet him.
Well, I guess it’s confirmed now. Bo Hee is the sender of the message that Hyun Jae got in his beeper and the message was “I want to meet you”. The only remaining mystery is why he got the message in the future (though it could be just because he ‘jumped’ to the future). Let’s see whether this beeper’s story would lead to another incident.
Meanwhile, Ji Hoon found out that Dda Bong is Yoo Hyun Jae. The real Yoo Hyun Jae, his father. At first, he’s only suspicious because of the watch (Ji Hoon owns a limited edition watch that once owned by his father and found out that Dda Bong owns the exactly same watch). Then he remembered Dda Bong performed J2’s song in a competition (in which Ji Hoon also participated), remembered the time the police stated that Dda Bong was born in 1971, and thought about the similar physical appearance between Dda Bong and Hyun Jae.
Until one night, Dda Bong’s phone rang when he was out. Ji Hoon was on the room, so he checked the phone. He’s quite surprised to see that the call is from Gwang Jae. He picked up the phone out of his curiosity. More to his surprise, Gwang Jae shouted Hyun Jae’s name over and over again (without knowing that the other party was actually Ji Hoon). What will happen next? I’d really like to know.
Just my 2 cents
This show is quite unpredictable, but I have a feeling that the musical book and the watch could be some kind of “horcrux”. It might be the reason why Hyun Jae is being travelled to the future. It might also be the things that is needed to send Hyun Jae back to the past.
